“Lo Hobbit” e’ stato il primo libro ad aprirmi le porte verso un nuovo mondo. Avevo un’eta’ in cui ancora la mia immaginazione era aperta a credere all’esistenza di uomini dal cuore puro e le orecchie a punta, maghi, orchi e strani ometti piccoli e dal piede lungo.
Quante volte ho sognato di vivere nella Terra di Mezzo nella mia piccola casa rotonda! Fino a quando, crescendo, ho iniziato a pensare che non esistesse realmente, ma mi sbagliavo.
Una giornata passata a Hobbiton, set del Signore degli Anelli, ti fa rivivere ogni emozione del libro. Colline verdeggianti, il lago, l’albero delle feste e le case rotonde scavate nel terreno si popolano, con un po’ di ricordi e immaginazione, di piccoli hobbit in festa per il centoundicesimo compleanno di Bilbo.
 
Nel frattempo tra un piatto di pasta e una visita agli hobbit, visto che gli italiani in viaggio sono pochi, non e’ cosi’ raro che si incontrino. Abbiamo piacevolmente passato qualche giorno con Andrea “Haero“, amico snowboarder con cui ero solita surfare sulle piste di Coumayeur, immaginate l’effetto di incontrarsi nella sperduta Nuova Zelanda!
Andrea sta girando il mondo per sette mesi dopo aver vinto un concorso per il National Geographic. Viaggia da solo in compagnia della sua fedelissima telecamera con cui documenta la situazione della neve nel mondo: ” The snow must go on” e’ il nome del suo progetto.
