Son passati otto mesi dal nostro rientro e finalmente riprendiamo il volo. Viaggetto breve, brevissimo, ma comunque intenso e importante per noi.
Un last minute, due amici che si aggregano a noi e si riparte: destinazione Marocco!
Una settimana per riassaporare il piacere dello zaino in spalla e toccare per la prima volta la terra d’Africa.
Caldo, sandali ai piedi appena scesi dall’aereo, Essaouira la bella, il mare d’inverno, spiaggioni oceanici e campi da calcio improvvisati ovunque sui bagnoasciuga, gabbiani al tramonto, mura che sembrano inespugnabili, navi che si inabissano e odore di pesce appena pescato, barchette blu, finestre blu, decorazioni blu su case bianche.
E poi l’esperienza nell’hammam tradizionale, non di quelli turistici con le istruzioni in lingua per gli occidentali e solo volti bianchi ad attenderti. Un piccolissimo hammam locale senza sfarzi e decori, con donne marocchine che non parlavano una parola di francese, ma alla fine a gesti siamo riuscite a capire come comportarci e a goderci il calore e il rilassamento del bagno turco osservando le donne mentre si lavano e sfregano per ore nella breve intimità concessa dall’hammam.
Come molto tradizionale la cena di pesce al mercato di Essaouira, una grande prova per i nostri stomaci, ma che freschezza!!
Osserviamo lungo la strada che scorre a bordo ocenano un enorme cantiere per un campo da golf in costruzione, e ci chiediamo come si faccia a pensare di costruire dei campi da golf in un paese in secca?!


Molti scelgono di scoprire il Marocco con camper o furgoni che ci riportano alla memoria il nostro amato Blue Spring, li osserviamo con un pizzico d’invidia e teniamo a mente per futuri viaggi in queste terre che rivelano strade incredibilmente ben asfaltate, anche se troppo spesso prive di gard rail. Vertigini e paesaggi mozzafiato in serpentine che si inerpicano tra i monti che poi si aprono in altipiani inattesi. Città fantasma su collinette isolate che ricordano tanto la nostra Civita di Bagnoregio, paesini che si mimetizzano con il colore delle montagne, villaggi berberi e cordialità, case di terra e paglia, terra rossa e oasi di palme, lunghi canyon e massi desertici che sembrano uscire da quadri di Dalì.
Gli ultimi giorni li dedichiamo a perderci nella medina di Marrakech con la sua celebre piazza, i suoi odori, il suo vociare, i macellai in mezzo ai barbieri in mezzo ai negozi di babucce in mezzo alle bancarelle che preparano i tajine, e ancora babucce e argento e borse di pelle coloratissima, the alla menta e dolci spremute d’arancio, uomini incappucciati nel jaballah, caretti trainati dai somari e occidentali in cerca del brindisi di capodanno.

E ho capito ancora una volta che il bene più prezioso e avere il tempo. Tempo per viaggiare, tempo per sognare, per scrivere, per pensare, per leggere, per imparare nuove lingue, per osservare la gente che ti sta intorno e anche a volte per non far nulla, perchè in fondo che male c’e’?!??!
