Back in Thailand!!! E questa volta si viaggia in 5, la famiglia è al completo :)

Partenza da Torino ore 9.00 … 24 ore dopo arrivo a Kho Kood. Nel mezzo 10 ore di volo (per una volta diretto da Milano complici le super offerte di Airitaly che con  350 euro a testa ci portano fino a Bangkok). I sedili sono stretti, lo spazio è poco. Abbiamo pagato 60 euro per avere il posto davanti alla culletta di Milo, spesa inutile il piccoletto tenta subito il suicidio liberandosi dalla cintura e cercando di buttarsi giù. Risultato: ce lo teniamo in braccio per il resto del viaggio quando non se ne va a gattonare in giro per l’aereo . La gente ci guarda salire temendo per la loro quiete. Con un pizzico d’orgoglio posso dire che sia all’andata che al ritorno ci hanno fatto i complimenti per questa piccola famiglia di viaggiatori che ha lasciato riposare tutti serenamente.

Atterrati a Bangkok il tempo di respirarne l’aria calda ci siamo fiondati su un minibus che ci aspettava per portarci diretti al molo di Trat.
Alice” Faceva molto caldo e poi abbiamo preso un pulmino che ha guidato 5 ore. In quelle 5 ore ci siamo addormentati come dei ghiri. Poi siamo andati in barca è durato un’altra ora e quando siamo scesi abbiamo preso un furgoncino aperto e ci siamo seduti nel cassone.”

Finalmente, dopo 24 ore, raggiungiamo la nostra spiaggia una delle più remote dell’isola, la spiaggia di Ao Prao dove ci fermeremo per i primi 10 giorni.
Un bungalow a pochi metri dall’acqua, qualche ristorantino dove cenare la sera, una lunga distesa di sabbia bianca e il sole che tutte le sere tramonta nel mare davanti a noi.
Non cercavamo niente di più. Milo a 9 mesi va guardato a vista, gattona ovunque, dalla sabbia all’acqua e vorrebbe assaggiare tutto quello che tocca.
Per fortuna Alice e Pietro sono più che autonomi, li vediamo giocare lontani nell’acqua calda e bassa fino a che il sole non scende nel mare, costruire castelli di sabbia e cacciare conchiglie. Mentre i thailandesi fanno a gara a rapirci Milo per coccolarselo e per fortuna lui non dice mai di no :) così riesco a concedermi anche un rigenerante massaggio sulla spiaggia.

Il sabato decidiamo di unirci all’associazione locale “Trash for heroes” che si occupa di ripulire le spiagge dall’enorme massa di immondizia che viene trasportata ogni giorno dalla corrente in un punto della baia.
Capsule di caffè, sandali, accendini, spazzolini, bottigliette di vetro, bicchieri, cannucce … i bambini danno una mano volentieri e iniziano a metabolizzare la situazione dei nostri mari sommersi di plastica. In poche ore riempiamo decine e decine di sacchi di immondizia :(

Gli ultimi giorni ci spostiamo nella spiaggia più centrale, alla sera, in cerca di un po’ di musica, troviamo un piccolo localino  gestito da un simpatico hippie thailandese.
Tutte le sere jam session e il bar autogestito: entri e ti prepari tu i tuoi cocktail o ti servi di Singha/Chang/Leo dal frigo lasciando i soldi sulla fiducia.  Milo gattona felice tra i cuscinoni del locale, Alice si coccola un piccolo cagnolino e Pietro si unisce tutte le sere ai musicisti facendosi imprestare qualche strumento.

E’ ora di tornare indietro, salutiamo Kho Kood con un po’ di malinconia, dopo anni di Thailandia possiamo dire di aver trovato una delle nostre isole preferite. Tranquilla, senza macchine di turisti, senza miliardi di beach bar,  verde e rigogliosa grazie alle sue cascate e al fiume che la attraversa, con bellissime spiagge  e possibilità di dormire anche in romantici bungalow affacciati sul fiume.
Il modo migliore per girarla è sicuramente noleggiando un motorino, noi, con Milo così piccolo, non potevamo, ma un giorno abbiamo preso un pickup che ci ha fatto fare il giro dell’isola. Imperdibile la visita al villaggio di pescatori di Ao Yao. Un piccolissimo paesino galleggiante costruito su palafitte collegate da passerelle dove potersi concedere un ottimo e economico pranzo di pesce e frutti di mare.

Ci aspettano gli ultimi giorni a Bangkok. I bimbi son cresciuti, almeno due :),  e mi stupisco della facilità con cui ormai li si può portare in giro. Il sabato li strapazziamo tutta la giornata a Chatuchak il più grande mercato della Thailandia e loro non si lamentano mai anzi ora si divertono a frugare tra le bancarelle di artigiani e provare t-shirt mentre noi ci stupiamo della qualità e design dei loro tessuti e assaggiano il cibo delle bancarelle facendo a gara con me a chi mangia più mango fresco!
Alla sera ancora un mercato, questa volta il Rot Fai Market, e finiamo la serata con un divertente e vertiginoso giro in tuk tuk tra il traffico folle di Bangkok.

 

Si torna a casa, felici di questa prima esperienza in cinque. Abbiamo scelto come primo viaggio per Milo la Thailandia che si conferma sempre uno dei paesi più facili dove andare con un bimbo piccolo.  Cordialità, facilità di spostamenti, mare perfetto per loro, ottimo cibo e tanto relax che era quello di cui avevamo bisogno in questo momento.
Il prossimo viaggio già camminerà e potremo iniziare ad affrontare qualche spostamento in più … e intanto per quest’estate, in suo onore, stiamo iniziando a sognare l’isola di Milo, in Grecia,  con il nostro amato furgone :)
