Il fascino della carta stampata

Non è per rinnegare il mezzo internet che tanto ci è stato utile durante il nostro viaggio, ma non c’è blog o e-book che tenga, il fascino della carta stampata è tutt’altra cosa.
Per questo è stato emozionante oggi andare in edicola, comprare la rivista Extra Torino e trovare le nostre fotografie, la nostra storia, le pagine da sfogliare tra le mani mentre i ricordi riaffiorano.
L’articolo, arrossisco un po’ nel vederlo, si apre con una nostra fotografia grande, imponente, come le rovine del Machu Picchu che si intravedono dietro di noi. Un autoscatto di prima mattina, mi ricordo la fatica, la camminata all’alba, 100% di umidità, un’ora di gradini per raggiungere la meraviglia del mondo prima dell’invasione dei gruppi di turisti, mentre quegli stessi turisti ci superavano in salita con i loro pulmini organizzati.
E poi arriviamo in cima, stanchi, con un po’ di occhiaie e, nonostante sia una delle immagine più viste al mondo, la realtà supera ogni aspettativa. Rimaniamo mezz’ora ammutoliti ad ammirare il paesaggio, le rovine per poche ore ancora disabitate dai turisti e ci chiediamo, come tutti, come è possibile che gli Inca siano venuti a costruire proprio qui, in cima a queste montagne.
Sfoglio le pagine e riemergono le immagini del Sud America così tanto amato, il ghiacciaio Perito Moreno, il “classico” come viene definito da quelle parti, come dire “non puoi non vederlo!”. Mi ricordo di un nostro amico romano, Pino, simpaticissimo, uno dei primi italiani conosciuti in viaggio ad Ushuaia. Ci raccontava la sua visita al Moreno dicendo di tenerci pronti, perchè è come stare davanti ad un freezer con lo sportello aperto!
Le nuvole mi ricordano le ore e ore passate sulle strade della Patagonia con il dito alzato in attesa dell’arrivo di un qualsiasi mezzo che ci facesse percorrere un po’ di chilometri, ricoperti di polvere, spesso infreddoliti e con lo sguardo rivolto al cielo passando il tempo ad ammirare le forme tridimensionali create dal vento e i tramonti spettacolari che solo in Nuova Zelanda avremmo rivisto così colorati.

E le pagine della Nuova Zelanda sono un groviglio di emozioni. Blue Spring, la nostra casa mobile, ribattezzata così come auspicio per la bella stagione e in onore ad uno dei nostri film giapponesi preferiti. La “camionetta” come si ostinava a chiamarla Matte per farci arrabbiare. La fotografia dei tre alberelli, l’ennesima sosta per fotografare i tramonti, ma chi l’avrebbe mai detto che sarebbe venuto uno scatto così memorabile?
In una fotografia sono racchiusi tutti i tramonti che abbiamo visto insieme in un mese e mezzo di viaggio, la desolazione e la bellezza dei paesaggi neozelandesi che ci accompagnano tutti i giorni nei nostri ricordi.

Prima di partire per il viaggio avevo scritto ad Emanuela, ragazza di Chieri, viaggiatrice come noi partita qualche anno fa per il suo giro del mondo. Le chiedevo consigli, informazioni pratiche. Mi aveva risposto “ti auguro di cuore uno splendido viaggio, e ti dico anche la cosa piu’ bella di tutte…il giro del mondo non finisce quando torni a casa, quello che vivrai ti farà compagnia ancora per tanto, tanto tempo. e magari anche le persone che incontrerai…”
Aveva ragione! Sabato partiamo di nuovo, un viaggio breve, una settimana in camper. Direzione: Bruxelles. Non vediamo l’ora! Là ci aspetta Sander, ragazzo belga, appena rientrato dal suo anno di viaggio, con cui abbiamo condiviso le sveglie all’alba e la nostra esperienza di lavoro nei campi di Kiwi.

Il viaggio continua, grazie a tutti i nuovi amici che andremo a trovare in giro per il mondo, grazie agli amici di sempre che hanno condiviso con noi un pezzetto di viaggio, grazie a mondovisione, alle fotografie, ai nostri ricordi e alle parole di questa nostra storia che sulla carta stampata hanno tutto un altro profumo.
