Gli ultimi giorni in Bolivia li abbiamo trascorsi sulla rilassante Isla del Sol sul lago Titicaca. Sull’isola, sacra agli Inca, abbiamo ammirato le rovine di alcuni templi e la roccia sacra da cui, secondo la leggenda Inca, ha avuto origine il Sole. L’isola non e’ ancora stata invasa dal turismo di massa, e’ molto caratteristica coi sui piccoli villaggi di pescatori, i bambini che si offrono come guida per le rovine e la lingua parlata e’ l’Aymara di cui siamo riusciti ad imparare qualche parola.
E dopo l’isola del Sol continua la nostra “caccia” agli Inca per cui siamo sconfinati in Peru’. Prima tappa la citta’ bianca coloniale di Arequipa (dopo Sucre in Bolivia, Dubrovnik in Croazia, ma quante citta’ bianche ci sono al mondo?!?). Ci colpisce subito il ritorno alla modernita’, gli ostelli “di lusso”, i supermercati, i locali notturni, la gente molto piu’ predisposta al turismo. E a proposito di turismo, nel visitare l’enorme e splendido monastero di Santa Caterina, abbiamo incontrato la troupe di “Turisti per caso”. Lei si e’ rivelata decisamente antipatica, per fortuna i cameraman erano piu’ socievoli e abbiamo scambiato qualche chiacchiera con loro.
Dopo un giorno in citta’ abbiamo visitato il “vicino”, sei ore di pulman, canyon del Colca, il canyon piu’ profondo al mondo, che abbiamo ridisceso con una camminata fino a raggiungere la valle dove abbiamo dormito in capanne di paglia nei pressi di una fonte naturale piacevolmente rinfrescante. Peccato che il giorno successivo, per risalire, abbiamo dovuto affrontare al contrario i 1000 metri di dislivello ;-(
E ora gli Inca ci chiamano, siamo a Cusco, cuore dell’impero Inca. A presto notizie dal fronte Machu Pichu ;-)
